Terrifying Bingo with Riddles!
The rules are as old as the world itself and everyone knows them! But here’s the twist: instead of pulling wooden chips with numbers (seriously, why do people still play that?), you draw mystery riddles! Each one is written in the style of a police report!
Someone is wanted, something was found at the crime scene, someone is under suspicion! Your task is to find the matching picture on your card and cover it. Still simple but now it’s original and fun!
You can play this game over and over again (you’ll find extra ideas in the guide). It works perfectly with kids, adults, or the whole family. Grandparents included.

This small town may look cozy, but its residents are anything but ordinary. Here live the heroes of horror stories and spooky tales. Strange things happen all the time, and the local police station is overflowing with unsolved cases. Sheriff Mortimer urgently needs your help investigating the crimes and mysteries of Halloweenville. Your mission: figure out who or what hides behind the mysterious clues.

We absolutely loved the idea of solving riddles by finding the answers on the bingo cards — such a fun twist! And the riddles themselves are brilliant — you can tell they were written by real creators, not just auto-generated. Also loved the extra ideas for how to keep playing even after all the riddles are done. The kids keep asking to play again and again — no other board game gets that kind of reaction from them!

Loved it! We played Bingo Boo with the kids last weekend and had a blast. Each question is written like a page from a crime chronicle — clever and really funny. We were laughing out loud the whole time. Super easy to print and play, no prep needed. Definitely part of our Halloween traditions now.

But this time, with a mystery-detective twist!
Usually, Halloween games stick to the same familiar set of spooky icons — pumpkins, cobwebs, bats, skulls, candles… But in Bingo Boo, you’ll be guessing a whole range of “terrifying” concepts from history, legends, fairy tales, and literature — a total of 66 words!
Important note: these things only sound scary. The game contains no real horror content — it’s perfectly suitable for children. Some riddles might be trickier, but adults can help with hints, while kids find the matching picture themselves!

Printing:

6 sheets (required): Bingo boards with pictures for players.

8 sheets (optional): Riddle cards (you can also read them from your phone).

4 sheets (optional): Game tokens to cover the pictures. But you can just as well use pebbles, beans, LEGO bricks, coins — whatever you have at hand!
How to play
If you’ve ever played bingo or lotto — this will feel familiar, except instead of numbers you have Halloween-themed images.
Each player gets a large board with 15 pictures (five in each row). Every board is unique.
The host — also known as Sheriff Mortimer — shuffles the riddle cards, draws one, and reads it aloud. Each card has an answer visible only to the Sheriff! But we’ve also included a version without answers, so the Sheriff can join the fun and play along.
The players’ task: figure out who or what the riddle describes, find that picture on their board, and cover it with a token. The round ends when someone covers all the pictures on their board.
Not sure you’ll recognize all the horror characters or that kids will know the magical items from books? Then turn it into a discussion! After each riddle, let everyone share their theories and agree on the correct answer before covering the picture. These debates often become the funniest and liveliest part of the game!

Example riddle:
A suspect has been detained. The citizen, who has no driver’s license, uses a household item as her means of transport.
Answer: A Witch — find her on your board and cover the picture!
